Benefits
The Adventurous Slope is Accelerated Learning for snowboarding and skiing. Lessons are private, indoors, and completely customized for your fitness, learning-style and goals. Your progress will be faster, more fun & feel more natural than lessons on the mountain, and they’re a better value too.
-
-
- Faster. Instructors are inches from the student; we can direct knees a millimeter over or a nanosecond sooner to provide a carve students can feel, control & retain.
- More effective. We see how each individual body works up close, so we build on strengths and fix issues quickly.
- Lasting. Students are turning, carving & improving constantly in during lessons—so muscle-memory gets baked right in.
- Stronger. Strength & Balance conditioning happens faster, because it’s reinforced when students experience the benefits in their skills.

FAQs
- Do I need to bring my kids snow gear?
No, we can provide all skis, boards, and boots free of charge, but if your child has boots or gear that they absolutely love, then feel free to bring it in on Monday.
- What should kids wear?
We need to see hips & knees! (That’s why it’s hard to learn on the snow – they can’t see your hips, knees or toes, where everything important happens.) So shorts, running tights, soccer pants, yoga leggings are all great. Please avoid baggy sweats, jeans and chinos.
- Do they need snack, lunch, and water?
- Yes! We have tap water and may have some limited snacks, but please send your kid with filled water bottle, a hearty PM snack and lunch! We do provide snacks for PM-care.
- Do you have parking?
No, sorry. Our Hayes Valley Studio does not have parking. Your confirmation email suggests popular parking options, including garages.
- Do I get video analysis?
Yes, in addition to large lesson-front mirrors, we use lots of video and images to help students see & assess their own movement. Not only for correction of course, but also for reinforcement. Parents can download daily video at pick-up as well as receive end-of-week summary video.
- Where is Adventurous Sports located?
- 188 Octavia St., Suite A, on the corner of Page and Octavia.
- Does my kid already have to know how to ski/snowboard?
- There are no ability requirements for this camp, our staff is trained to instruct every skill level, and are prepared to be as advanced or cautious as needed for your child’s comfort on the slopes.
- Is there before and/or after care?
- Yes, we offer pre-care starting at 8am and post-care is offered until 6pm. Care for the week is $50 for all-week PreCare, $70 for all-week PostCare and $100 for all-week Pre&PostCare.
- What is the experience of the Instructors?
Our Instructors have taught literally hundreds of kids (starting at age 3) and adults at our Adventurous Studios, in addition to all having on-snow Instruction experience.
- Where do the lessons take place?
At our Sports Studio at 188 Octavia St, suite A, in San Francisco. You’ll see a window-front space right on the corner of Page St. (look for the blue lit snowflakes.)
- For regular lessons - do you teach Families?
Yes – we teach lots of Families and Groups. We offer a two hour Family FastStart for 3-4 people, giving each family member time on the Endless Slope. (Lesson packages are for Families or Groups of 4; just call us at 415.397.7678 and we can pro-rate the package for 3 people. But you’ll still do the SAME 2-hour FastStart if you have 3 or 4 people.) After the FastStart, special Family Packages from 12 to 32 lessons are available. And because we love teaching families how to ski & board, the Family Packages are 25% off!
- For Regular lessons -do you have Family or Group discounts?
Yes! Our 2-hour group FastStart is $240. Then there are Family/Group 4-packs for $960 and 6-packs for $1220. You can mix & match if some members want more lessons than others, but all members must use some lessons. (Group packages must be shared by all group members; they cannot be used by only 1 or 2 group members.)
- For regular lessons - what ages do you teach?
We start at age 3. For ages 3-12, Our Kid 1/2-hour FastStart is $55. Single kid lessons are $80 each and we have a Kid 4-pack of lessons for $300 and 6-packs for $360 ($60 each).
- Why aren't kid's lessons less expensive?
Kids lessons are a bit less expensive and we try to make the packages affordable – as kids tend to need more lessons for reinforcement. However, Kid lessons have the same experienced Instructors as Adult lessons. They also have the same focus, expertise, creativity and personalization.
- Do students fall a lot?
Most people don’t fall at all, but we kind of like a few falls–to get rid of the worry of falling! Falling on the Endless Slope is so nothing – it’s like slipping on a super-soft living room rug.
DAILY SCHEDULE
- Kids will get multiple individual slope lessons everyday, along with group coaching & training games. Lunch is outdoors at KoshLand & Hayes Valley Park. Our days are filled with plenty of indoor & outdoor activities to keep it exciting.
- Throughout the week, the day’s themes and goals will slightly shift, always emphasizing carving and skill development, but including some tricks, games, and acrobatics as well.
X
Strength & Balance
- When kids aren’t on the deck skiing or boarding, they can still be training towards those on-the-slope goals. Using games and activities to work on body position and balance can help make progress on the slope accelerate even further. Whether it’s using balance boards or utilizing the surrounding parks to play, there are plenty of activities that are fun on flatland and help us shred on the mountain.
X
Ski + Snowboard
- We encourage kids to experience both skiing & boarding just to see the uniquely cool parts of both -and to eliminate the imaginary divide between skiers and boarders so we can all share the mountain! But, of course, we will happily stick to one sport if that is your preference. All instructors are trained and experienced in both disciplines.

BOOTS and Gear
- One of the most important requirements for mountain skills is getting correctly sized boots. Boots that are too big may feel more comfortable to put on and walk in, but that extra space translates to loose engagement on the mountain. The body may implement correctly, but it doesn’t translate to the skis & board. So we teach kids about his important aspect of snow performance. We will give each kid a 3D foot scan to ensure the correctly sized boots are worn, and we will share that scan information with you to take for their next boot purchase.
